Serving Their Community
The Georgia Wing of the Civil Air Patrol, US Air Force Auxiliary, has a
new squadron in Gainesville, Georgia.
We provide the citizens of Northeast Georgia with fully qualified
and unpaid search and rescue aircrews, airborne photographers and humanitarian aid volunteers.
We have an award-winning cadet program
that teaches respect, leadership and a military lifestyle.
We have a long history of volunteer service that predates World
here to view a 31-page National Geographic Story from May 1956)
We work closely with federal, state and local agencies, and our
members are fully FEMA certified and trained. We are fully equipped and
actively fly missions using our Cessna aircraft based locally in Gainesville as
well as using other Civil Air Patrol aircraft across the state.
THE CAP IS CELEBRATING 75 YEARS OF SERVICE
We invite you to learn more about who we are and what we do for the citizens of
Hall County and Northeast Georgia.
For over 70 years, the Civil Air Patrol has been here to serve.
Our adult ("Senior") volunteers meet the first and third Tuesdays; our cadets
(ages 12-20) meet every Tuesday. We meet from 7-9 pm.
Visitors and those who are considering joining the CAP are always
welcomed at our meetings; meeting topics generally include training, safety
briefings and topics of general information and interest.
